Frizz Away Target Audience Statement (Audacity Project)


Frizz Away is a shampoo designed to do away with of frizzy and unruly hair. My intended message is to let women know that they can finally do something at home to get rid of their frizzy hair and keep it under control. I want woman to realize that they do not have to go to a salon to do something about their crazy hair; they can use Frizz Away by themselves in their own homes. I want to grab listener’s attention by telling them that there is finally something out there that is easy and simple to use that will do what they get done at a salon to keep their hair under control. They no longer have to spend all that money going to a salon to get the hair they have always wanted. All they have to do it purchase a bottle of Frizz Away and they will realize there is a much cheaper and easier way.
My target audience would be woman/girls starting in their teens and older who have crazy, frizzy, out of control, or unruly hair. These women do not have to have a particular income because everyone uses shampoo and this is just a shampoo that is targeted towards women with frizzy hair. The geographic location I am targeting could really be anywhere because people all over the world use shampoo. For this particular radio ad I would say the only preference would be that my target audience speak English because the ad is in English. I am targeting single women, married women, and women who have children. Single women and married women will buy this product for themselves and women with children will either buy this product for themselves or their daughters. I am not targeting a particular race because any women can have frizzy can, it does not matter their race. Education level does not particularly matter because you do not have to graduate high school or college to know that Frizz Away will work for your frizzy and unruly hair. My target audience’s interests and hobbies could be anything, as long as they care about taking care of their hair. Their attitude would consist of not being afraid of trying new things, in this care shampoo. My target audience’s leisure activities can be pretty broad as well. Their values can consist of being family-oriented, wanting to take care of their children’s hair, or independent, wanting to take care of their own hair and how they look.
The design of my project reinforces my intended message because in my radio ad I limited who is going to listen to my message by saying “Hey ladies!” as my introduction to grasp listener’s attention. In my message I state what the product is and whom the product will work for. Once listeners listen to what my message has to say, they will realize that this shampoo will probably work for their hair, if they have frizzy or crazy hair. As long as they are willing to try something new and get their hair in control then this radio ad should influence listeners to buy Frizz Away.
